Companies House is a registration authority for limited companies and a source of public information.Companies House does not:carry out inspections check the accuracy of information filed by companies It does, however, carry out basic administrative checks as to completeness, dating and signing of documents filed.
ChecksCompanies House publishes guidelines for the quality of documents submitted and it can reject any that do not comply with the guidelines. Forms submitted that are not complete, dated or signed will be returned.
Accounts that have been prepared to an incorrect date will be rejected and another set will be needed for the required date. Accounts that do not bear an original signature will also be rejected.Companies that file accounts late will incur a late filing penalty - see our guide on key filing dates.
